Leupold GX-3 Laser Golf Rangefinder Review
The Leupold GX-3 Golf Rangefinder is a tournament-ready laser golf rangefinder offering all the features of the Leupold GX-1 but with improvements to both the display and body construction.
GX-3 vs. GX-1
The GX-1 and GX-3 are the only tournament ready laser rangefinders in Leupold's GX series of rangefinders. While they share many similar features such as Pin Hunter technology, Prism Lock, Fog Mode and Scan Mode, the Leupold GX-3 Rangefinder sets itself apart from the GX-1 by offering improved optics, increased range, and a solid aluminum body.
Offering clearly superior optics over LCD displays (like used in the GX-1), the Leupold GX-3 golf rangefinder comes equipped with a brilliant red OLED display, allowing for easy distinguishing of objects against any type or color background.
The GX-3's body is made from a solid block of aluminum offering unmatched durability and weather-proofing.
The LX-3 Laser Rangefinder offers an 800 yard reflective/prism range and a 450 yard pin range. In comparison to the GX-1, the GX-3 offers an extra 50 yards of reflective and 100 yards of pin range.
Size & Weight
The GX-3 weighs in at 7.8 oz. (compared to 6.8 for the GX-1) and measures 3.7 x 2.9 x 1.3
The features listed below are shared among all GX series rangefinders.
Finding precise ranges to the flag or any other target doesn't get any easier. The Leupold GX-3, similar to all golf rangefinders in the Leupold GX series, includes Leupold's PinHunter and Prism Lock Engineering making it one of the most accurate golfing rangefinders on the market today. To use Prism Lock, merely point the range finder towards the flag. When the GX-1 detects the pin, it will lock the display, give an audible notice, then display the exact distance.
With Leupold's top-of-line lens coating technology, images received through the GX-3 are crisp, sharp, and brilliant. Scratch proof lens prevents glare.
Most rangefinders are unable to give accurate distances in fog and bad weather. The GX-3 rangefinder with Fog Mode makes playing in bad weather easy. With fog mode activated, the laser beam will slice through fog, rain, or other bad weather to give accurate ranges in any situation.
Instantaneously obtain various distances with only a simple scan of the hole or green area.

Currently, there aren't many reviews of the GX-3 Rangefinder, but the reviews we have located have almost all been outstanding.
Positive Customer Reviews
I compared the GX-3 to many different rangefinders including the best by Bushnell. By far the best optics, especially in the sun, and I love the rugged aluminum construction.
This is the best rangefinder out there. Unlike other rangefinders, the display is easy to read and distance readings are always in your view. Small enough to fit in my pocket.
Perfect fit in my hand. I'm consistently locking onto flags 250 yards away and it probably has even more range than that. Well made, looks great, works great.
Negative Customer Comments
During sunset, it would be nice to be able to reduce the contrast on the red display as it's really bright.
